About This Workshop
Expand your learning of functional anatomy with this one day workshop aimed at people who want to further their understanding of the canine musculoskeletal system. This course is ideal for canine massage practitioners, hydrotherapists, vet nurses and students who want to consolidate their existing knowledge.The course is limited to 10 places to ensure individual attention.
We will discuss canine muscle placement, the function of each muscle, outlining the origin and insertion. Along with hands on identification on a variety of dogs. At the end of the workshop you will be given an exclusive functional anatomy video talking you through where muscles are located on a dog with an overview of their function.
Please note, we have both dog and handler places and also spectator places available for this workshop.

The Day Includes
Date and Time
- Identify superficial ‘bony’ landmarks on a skeleton and on a variety of dogs
- Discuss the skeletal structure of the dog in association with muscle placement
- Recognise muscle origins and insertions
- Apply hands on identification of main muscular groups on a variety of dogs
- Examine muscular function
- How to assess basic muscular health in correlation with functional anatomy
- Recognise the role of the kinetic chain

We have dog and handler places available for this workshop, and also spectator places if you'd just like to come along and observe. The cost of dog and handler places is just £125, and for spectaors it is just £95. The price includes refreshments throughout the day and attendance certificate for your own CPD purposes.

I just wanted to write to let you know how much I enjoyed the one day workshop I attended last December on ‘Enhance the health & performance of your Canine Athlete’.
I found it a very good, interesting course and learnt a lot; the warm up exercise was particularly beneficial. My dog, Dodger competes in Simulated Coursing Events and canine massage is an important part of his preparation for these events. So far this year, he has had a very successful season, including winning the 32 dog stake championship at The Thame Country Show. This win has qualified him for a major final that is to be held later on in the year
