With the canine world as it is with humans, knowing what to do in the event of an emergecy is absolutely vital in being able to make a difference. And with the welfare of dogs being our first priority, we're proud to offer the Galen Myotherapy Canine First Aid Course. This information packed online course covers a broad range of topics, and is delivered in partnership with Andy Mead BVetMed M.R.C.V.S who presents the course.
It provides the knowledge and tools to empower dog owners, enthusiasts, and professionals to allow them to support their dog in the event of an emergency, which combined with appropriate veterinary care could save their life.

Below we've answered some of the common questions we get asked about our Galen Myotherapy First Aid Course.
Who is the course for?
The course is aimed at dog owners, enthusiasts, and indeed anyone who spends time with dogs. The course also supports canine professionals where there is a requirement to hold an up-to-data first aid qualification.
How is the course delivered?
The course is 100% online, which means you can complete it wherever you feel most comfortable — and whenever it best fits into your schedule.
Who is the course delivered by?
The course has been put together in partnership between Galen Myotherapy and Andy Mead BVetMed M.R.C.V.S, a highly qualified Veterinary surgeon who works at a busy practice in West Sussex.
What information is provided in the course, and what will it give me?
The course is broad in its reach and contains information on a wide number of subjects. These topics include recognition of injury, distress, and trauma, and go through bandaging, respiratory checks, and safe restraint. This are also sections on poisoning injuries, burns, hyperthermia, and much much more.
How is the course structured?
The course consists of four hours of online content, which therefore translates into four CPD points. It's structured into four modules, with slides and video content presented and explained by our Veterinary surgeon Andy. These modules are:
- Module One - Emergency situations, CPR, basic health examinations.
- Module Two - Wounds and bandaging
- Module Three - First Aid situations Part One - Clinical shock, road traffic collisions, fractures, snake bites or stings, eye injuries
- Module Four - First Aid situations Part Two - Poisoning, electrocution, drowning, muscle injury, hyperthermia
Please note this course is not intended in any way to be a replacement for veterinary care. How is the course accredited and assessed?
This is a completion only course. At the end of the course when the allotted four hour period has been fulfilled, you will be awarded a certificate of completion which is automatically downloadable from the course website.
When can I start the course?
You can start the course at any time, due to its online nature delivered via the Moodle platform.REFUND POLICY
The Customer shall pay the course fee to the Provider to secure their place on the Programme. The Programme cost is non-refundable.
The customer will have access to the course for 6 months after payment has been recieved.
