Some of the events we've attended

We're proud to be asked to speak at events all around the world. These often take the form of symposiums, conferences, or CPD sessions. Here are a selection of just a few of the events that Julia Robertson - founder of Galen Therapy Centre - has been asked to speak at recently.

Pain and Behaviour Veterinary Seminar

Event: Pain and Behaviour Veterinary Seminar
Location: Warsaw, Poland
Date: 1st April 2019

In April 2019, Julia was in Poland, delivering a great seminar in Warsaw in conjunction with our partners, Ethoplanet. Julia held two days of training with some wonderful students, all of which were canine professionals.

It was a packed agenda, and it really came alive due to the great dogs that we met, and were so fantastic to work with. A great opportunity to discuss what we can do for our dogs, and how to change mindsets and habits. Many of the students were kind enough to share their thoughts on camera, and we're keen to share those here too.

PDTI Conference - Mind, Body and Nose

Event: PDTI Conference - Mind, Body and Nose.
Location: Shropshire, UK
Date: 10th April 2019

We spent this weekend with PDTI (Pet Dog Training Instructors) in Shropshire, and Julia delivered a great workshop to their members as part of their annual conference.

The theme of the conference was 'Mind, Body, and Nose!' and there was a huge level of interest in Galen Therapy and how we enrich the lives of dogs. Friday night was spent looking at the dogs that owners and handlers had brought in, and taking them through an assessment of biomechanical function. On Saturday we delivered practical demonstration of a number of techniques.

Behavioural Training session with Turid Rugaas

Event: Behavioural Training session with Turid Regaa
Location: Barceloa, Catalonia
Date: 26th March 2019

This weekend, we were in Barcelona with our dear friend Turid Rugaas, Julia was there to deliver a one day introduction workshop - 'Galen Physical Assessment of your Dog'. It was fantastic to take part as always, and it was great to meet so many of you.

Thank you as always for the invite, Turid - we look forward to continuing our ongoing relationship long into the future!

Woof Conference 2019

Event: Woof Conference 2019 with Chirag Patel
Location: Nottingham, UK
Date: 13th February 2019

This weekend Julia was once again asked to share her expertise and insights around canine pain and behaviour at another conference, Woof 2019.

It was fantastic to speak alongside experts in the field of animal behaviour - such as Dr Julie S Vargas, Chirag Patel, and many more. It truly demonstrates how Galen Therapy Centre has led the way in terms of understanding and education. We'd like to thank the organisers for having us there, and we'd love to join you all again next year.

Taiwan Dog Symposium

Event: Taiwan Dog Symposium with Professor Daniel Mills
Location: Taiwain, Taiwan
Date: 11th January 2019

Cushla and Julia spent time in Taiwan, where Galen were invited to speak at the Taiwan Dog Symposium. They joined Professor Daniel Mills and Susan Lotner to share how Galen Therapy enriches the lives of dogs all over the world.

Following this, they ran a four day workshop - delivering treatment and training - to students from all across Asia. Please see below for a selection of images from our trip to Taiwan. Click below to open the gallery.

We absolutely loved our visit to Taiwan, and we look forward to working with all of the people we met in the near future.

Thank you for a great workshop. Well-conceived course, went home with a set of exercise to improve the stability and balance of my dog. By the end of the 2 days, there was a notable improvement in his appearance even though he is a fairly healthy and very active dog.

As a flyballer any exercises and understanding how natural movement can be used to strengthen and balance the dog is invaluable to help prevent injuries and minimise/correct the stress of repetitive actions so yes I would very much recommend this course for anybody who has a sporting dog
